Amigos y amigas de estas tierras bendecidas por la naturaleza, la Corporación para el Desarrollo Sostenible del Archipiélago de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina, CORALINA les recuerda la importancia de cuidar y preservar nuestros recursos naturales. En particular, deseamos sensibilizar a todos sobre la crítica situación de la tala y quema. La belleza de nuestras islas depende de su biodiversidad y su exuberante vegetación, por lo que es esencial que tomemos medidas para evitar su degradación, pues recordemos que la tierra es para muchos de nuestros agricultores una fuente de alimentación y económica, y para ello se requiere de su preservación.

La tala y quema indiscriminada afecta no solo a la flora y fauna de nuestras islas, sino también a la calidad del aire que respiramos y al bienestar de las generaciones futuras. Cada árbol cortado y cada espacio incendiado destruye un pedazo de nuestro paraíso. Debemos ser conscientes de las graves consecuencias de estas acciones y comprometernos a cambiar nuestros hábitos. Aquí hay algunas razones poderosas para evitar la tala y quema en nuestras zonas rurales:

1. Preservar la biodiversidad: Nuestras islas son hogar de especies únicas que no se encuentran en ningún otro lugar del mundo. Cada árbol es un tesoro que debemos proteger.

Every tree cut down and every space burned destroys a piece of our paradise. We must be aware of the serious consequences of these actions and commit to changing our habits. Here are some powerful reasons to avoid cutting and burning in our rural areas:
